What We Do
Family Promise of Yellowstone Valley is dedicated to helping homeless families achieve and sustain independence through a community response to homelessness. We provide a holistic approach to addressing family homelessness by offering prevention services, emergency shelter, graduate support services, and community initiatives. Our goal is to empower families to achieve economic stability and long-term self-sufficiency.
Emergency Shelter
Our emergency shelter program provides a safe and welcoming environment for homeless families. Our shelter includes 30 congregations, case management and family support. The average stay in the shelter program is 4 ½ months before moving into permanent housing or transitional housing.
Transitional Housing
Our Transitional Housing program includes 12 transitional apartments that are leased to families transitioning from our shelter program at a fraction of the cost of current rental prices to allow our program participants extra time to work on rental history, past debts, and build their credit before moving into permanent housing.
Community Diaper Bank
Family Promise YV is a partner in the National Diaper Bank. Through this partnership and through grants and donations from the community, we are able to provide diapers to individuals in need in the community. The drive up Diaper Bank takes place at the FPYV Day Center at 10 S 26th St on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:30pm.
