Interfaith Hospitality Network
At the core of our network is our emergency shelter program. We work with 30 congregations that provide shelter, meals, and support for one week a quarter (three or four times a year) and through our congregations FPYV mobilizes over 1,400 volunteers yearly. This program is offered to family units only. They must have children in their custody to be eligible for this program. We accept couples, single mothers, single fathers, and grandparents with custody; no matter what the family unit looks like, they are able to apply to come into our emergency shelter. When entering our network each family works with our Social Worker on intensive case management to create an individual case plan covering 26 domains in FPYV’s self-sufficiency matrix.
Each domain is vital to the long term success of this homeless population ranging from housing and employment to family and social relations, life skills, budgeting, and community involvement. We require that each family work diligently and purposefully toward their goals while in our program.
